Healthy Altoona Week January 5-11, 2015
Proclamation

Whereas, in October 2014, the City of Altoona formed the Healthy Altoona Partnership to provide leadership in advancing the wellness of our community so every resident can achieve optimal wellness throughout their lifetime, and

Whereas, the Healthy Altoona Partnership has over 50 individuals, organizations and business partners who are making significant contributions to the Partnership and to improving the health of our community, and

Whereas, the Healthy Altoona Partnership supports a comprehensive approach to achieving individual well-being and a healthy community, and

Whereas, the Healthy Altoona Partnership has developed the Change 3 Challenge initiative to encourage members of the community to improve their well-being, and

Whereas, the City of Altoona and Healthy Altoona Partnership have declared the week of January 5-11, 2015 as Healthy Altoona Week in recognition of partner contributions, encouraging community members to join the partnership and the launching of the 2015 Change 3 Challenge.

NOW THEREFORE, I, J.M. Skip Conkling, Mayor of the City of Altoona, do hereby proclaim the week of January 5 – 11, 2015 Healthy Altoona Week

 And do hereby ask all Altoona residents to join me in honoring the partners who support better health for our entire population.

And do hereby encourage involvement from all residents, area businesses, schools, service organizations and health care providers by participating in Healthy Altoona Partnership.

And do hereby formally challenge members of the community to participate in the Healthy Altoona Partnership’s Change 3 Challenge initiative starting today.
