How is well-being defined?

There is no consensus around a single definition of well-being. Researches from different disciplines and believe many aspects are critical to overall well-being:

  • Physical well-being.
  • Economic well-being.
  • Social well-being.
  • Development and activity.
  • Emotional well-being.
  • Psychological well-being.
  • Life satisfaction.
  • Engaging activities and work.

According to Gallup, wellbeing is about the combination of our love for what we do each day, the quality of our relationships, the security of our finances, the vibrancy of our physical and mental health, and the pride we take in what we have contributed to our communities. Most importantly, it’s about how these five elements interact.
